ReplyDeleteaccording to Census Report, 2011, my state (the then undivided Andhra Pradesh) had the sex ratio of 993, whereas the child sex ratio was 939. The state had S3 rank in the country. The sex ratio was higher than the national ratio. to my opinion the state has a greater sex ratio because of good infrastructure on girls education, awareness among the people about the significance of girl child. There is also good childcare facilities in the state.

ReplyDeleteSex ratio in west Tripura was 998 female in 1000 male in the 2015-2016 survey. Sex ratio is higher than 2011 survey . In our society girl child are neglected and male child are accepted gladly. But we should stop negative attitudes about female .

ReplyDeleteEverywhere in the print as well as non print media a biasness is visible. Females are always pictured as a weaker sex so some products have been depicted as feminine and some masculine only. A bathing soap, or cooking oils, etc. will always be promoted by a female model

ReplyDeleteYes, sex ratio is not good as girls ratio is less than the boys ratio. In Tamilnadu, girl children are killed by giving poison because the parents feel that she is a burden for them. In Tamilnadu, dowry system is prevailing in almost all districts. This is also one of the reasons for not wanting girl child. This should be eradicated in the coming days.

Here I would like to say that sex ratio in different state vary based on their culture, profession, security, education etc. In Jharkhand, according to census 2011,Female to male child ratio was 948:1000.Education In male is 76.41while55.42percent.
The sex ratio of my state, Haryana, is quite below the national average. This is primarily due to a strong culture of patriarchy prevalent in the state. The lack of education & awareness is also a contributing factor to this lop sided ratio.
ReplyDeleteSex ratio of my state Mizoram, perhaps is the best sex ratio in the country, still stereotyping dominates the societal functions. This existence maybe related to the patriachal system.

Huge difference in sex ratio. Changing the mindset of people especially in rural areas is a huge challenge.
ReplyDeleteAs per results of Census 2011, the sex ratio of the State of Kerala is 1084. When compared to 2001 Census, sex -ratio has improved by 26 points. As per Census 2011, the Gender ratio of India is 943 females per 1000 males. The life expectancy in Kerala is high compared to other states. Where, the life expectancy of female is more. Also, you can see all the districts in Kerala having same male-female ratio, but other states having more variations. Kerala has less female foeticide and maternal mortality ratio compared to other states.

ReplyDeleteEducation to be given equally to boys and girls. People in rural areas to be educated that girls are equally capable as boys and they should be given equal opportunity.
ReplyDeleteThe sex ratio of the state is improving in urban area due to developing literacy rate while in rural are we can still see cases of discrimination on the basis of gender and high rates of female infanticide.

ReplyDeleteGirls always face things like you can't go outside and you can't do this bec of thinking of society (stereotype thinking). People should change their behaviour or thinking and should treat all gender equally.

In my district, sex ratio is poor. But as compared with the last decade, it has been improved.

ReplyDeleteAs compared to National sex ratio my state that is Assam 's sex ratio is little bit low but as compared to the last sex ratio of Assam there is an improvement in current situation.
ReplyDeletemore women and men were found to have tied the knot before reaching the permissible age, which gives the birth of the weaker child this is one of the reason of getting little bit lower sex ratio then National sex ratio.
Due to the improvement of neonatal and infant mortality rate, sex ratio of Assam has improved from the last census
